The first picture is of my grandfather, Russell L. Forsyth Sr. Taken in 1919, showing him in his uniform. The person who took this photo also captured him with his WWI gas warfare gear.
The second picture was taken of my father, Russell L. Forsyth Jr., while he was stationed on the USS Leyte. He is the on on the far right. During Korea, the USS Leyte was assigned to patrol the Mediterranean Sea. This was taken at the Parthenon (Acropolis of Athens, Greece) on November 12, 1949. My father passed away on Veteran's Day two years ago, so this day holds several meanings for me and mu family.
