My Dad, Darryl Person, is a Vietnam Veteran. My parents eloped just before he went into basic training. He was part of the engineering company that built the roads, dug the fox holes, and built the docks for the Marines to land at the shore. They were there before anyone else, and they survived a typhoon while deployed. He was decorated with two medals a few years ago including the Bronze Star. I am very proud of my father. He has always been a courageous person and excellent role model.
