Women in the Military - WWIIphoto-My Mom

My mother was one of 12 children who lived in a log cabin on a mountain in West Virginia. I asked her once why she joined the Army - to get off that mountain? Her reply, "NO! It just seemed to be the thing to do at the time!" She found the love of her life in my father and they were happily married until their deaths in 2003. I treasure this photo, it sits in a frame by my desk.
