After seeing "Elliot on ice" last night on the 10 o'clock weather report, it reminded me of his two feline counterparts at our house. We have two feral cats who have found a unique way of keeping cool in hot weather. I noticed sometime back that the cats like to curl up in tall, uncut grass in the back yard so I started leaving a few patches uncut when I mow. In the mornings I spray water on these patches and the cats crawl into them to sleep during the hottest part of the day. I suppose a breeze blowing through the damp grass acts like air conditioning for them and keeps them cool (For some reason these cats love water and often play in it). These photos are of Ringtail, so named because of the white ring on the end of his black tail.
