A lunar eclipse falls on the winter solstice. A once in a lifetime experience, and I couldn't have asked for better weather - minus a little haze. I'm a complete amateur who loves taking pictures of her children, but I'm so glad I didn't pass on this wonderful opportunity. These pictures made my year! Taken from my backyard in McKinney, Tx. with my Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XS, Canon 300MM lens, and a tripod.
