WFAA viewers grabbed their cell phones to quickly capture glimpses of a funnel cloud on Saturday.
The surprising sight was spotted in different locations in North Texas including near Red Oak and Midlothian in Ellis County.
We asked WFAA meteorologist Jesse Hawilla for a quick explanation. "Definitely not a dangerous funnel cloud, but we do get these sometimes when we do have enough wind shear or spinning in the atmosphere."
Hawilla said the funnel clouds were never a concern on Saturday.
