A freeze warning for North Texas starts at 9 o'clock Tuesday night and continues thru 10 a.m. Wednesday. The mercury will dip below 32 degrees before midnight in some locations.

Remember to cover your exposed pipes and sprinkler systems, and provide shelter for outdoor pets.

An expert suggests that you water the roots (not the leaves) of tender plants to help prevent freezing. Unprotected sensitive vegetation will be damaged or killed.

Temperatures will remain below freezing for about 6-8 hours overnight.
