A 16-year-old Cleburne boy admitted in court Wednesday that he caused a drunk driving crash that killed four people back in June.

Ethan Couch is accused of driving drunk and slamming into several people on the side of a rural road, as they tried to help a woman with car problems.

Couch’s attorney says the teen needs in-patient treatment, not jail.

He also blamed the boy’s parents, saying they were dysfunctional and didn’t set boundaries for their son.

But is that a viable defense strategy?  Attorney Pete Schulte joined Jason Wheeler on News 8 at 4pm to discuss the case.
