DALLAS — It took about seven hours of deliberation for a jury to find former Dallas Cowboys player Josh Brent guilty of intoxication manslaughter. The jury also found that Brent used his car as a deadly weapon.
He was accused of driving drunk and speeding over 100 miles an hour when he crashed his Mercedes in the early morning hours of December 8, 2012. That fiery crash killed his friend and teammate Jerry Brown.
The jury's decision surprised defense attorney Pete Schulte. He explained to Jason Wheeler on News 8 at 4 how the verdict could impact Brent’s sentence.
