Good Morning America reporter Amy Robach had to be coaxed into getting a mammogram during a breast cancer awareness segment last month, but, she says it saved her life.

Robach revealed Monday that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will now undergo a bilateral mastectomy. Robach is 40 and has no family history of the disease.

A Baylor breast surgeon and a breast cancer survivor joined News 8’s Shelly Slater on News 8 at 4 to discuss the importance of early detection.
