A North Texas family’s agony is making headlines around the world, as people debate the law in question.

Doctors say 33-year-old Marlise Munoz likely suffered an embolism back in November. It left her brain dead. Her family says she has been kept on life support against her will, because she is pregnant. The hospital says it is following Texas law, keeping her alive until it can be determined if the fetus is viable.

News 8’s Jobin Panicker first told us this story back in December. He joined Jason Wheeler on News 8 at 4 p.m. with an update on what the family is going through and how the community is reacting.
