NEW YORK — The nose gear of a Southwest Airlines jetliner collapsed as the plane landed at New York's LaGuardia Airport on Monday afternoon. The city's Port Authority says 11 people were hurt.
"I was in the D terminal, and I saw the plane come in, and from what I heard other people say -- I didn't see the landing gear come down and the wheels come off, but someone else said they saw the wheels come off," said witness Bobby Abtahi.
The flight from Nashville, Tennessee was carrying 150 people. Of the 11 people injured, five were crew members and six were passengers.
After reviewing air controller tapes, the FAA said there were no issues with the nose gear noted before the rough landing.
