Today's Wednesday's Child is a social butterfly who loves to bake and cook.

One of 14-year-old Jennifer's greatest qualities is a positive attitude. It's what drives her as she awaits the good news that someone will adopt her. She met up with News 8's Cynthia Izaguirre at Alley Cats in Arlington.

Jennifer enjoys school and is now on the honor roll. She already knows her future endeavors.

"I want to be a writer and my back-up is becoming a nurse, because I like helping people," she said. "It makes me smile to see other people smile because I did a good thing instead of a bad thing."

Jennifer likes rap and gospel music and typical teenage activities such as talking on the phone, hanging out with friends and going to the movies.

When she's at home with her foster family, Jennifer likes to play chef.

"I love to cook and I love to bake," she said. "It's fun. I love baking cheesecake."

Jennifer's uncle raised her the first few years of her life and she's now with a foster family. She never knew her mother or father.

"Growing up knowing that my mom died, it's been kinda hard, because I see all the other kids having moms and I ain't got one," said Jennifer as she choked up.

Jennifer needs parents who will help work through her emotions and give her positive feedback when she deserves it. She also needs structure and guidance.

"It's someone who's always going to be there for you no matter what -- no matter what stupid thing you do," Jennifer said.

Having a positive attitude is what Jennifer strives to do everyday. She even quotes a rapper to help keep her in the right mindset.

"Like Lil Wayne says, 'I ain't got no worries!'" she said.

It's the right attitude for a young lady waiting to find her forever home.
