If you want to see a child's face light up, then today's Wednesday's Child is for you.

We took 11-year-old Angel to American Girl at the Galleria in Dallas, where not only did she get a doll for herself, but it even looked like her.

"I'm happy because I got a new doll, and people are being really nice," Angel said.

The 11 year old doesn't have a lot of toys or dolls, but her trip to American Girl store at the Galleria Dallas made up for it -- Angel felt like a star! She got a tour of all the dolls in the store, and then got to choose one for herself.

"I'm gonna take care of her," she told us. "I'm gonna let her be on my bed, and I'm gonna play with her."

When Angel is not playing with dolls, she prides herself on being a good 6th grade student.

"I'm on A-and-B honor roll," she said. "I only get C's every now and then."

Her favorite subject at school is theater.

"I'm a drama queen -- that's what my mama tells me," she said.

Angel is in a loving foster home right now, where she receives structure and redirection. She needs parents who will provide the three A's: Acceptance, appreciation, and acknowledgment.

"I want a mom, a dad, and a big brother," Angel told us.

Angel was shy when we first met her, but it didn't take her long to come out of her shell -- especially when she was holding her new doll.

"[The doll] means a lot to me," the girl said. "She's really special, because I've never been here before and I plan on collecting as I get older."

Angel wants her future parents to know she doesn't want to be spoiled and that she will always have a spirit of gratitude.

"I pray for nothing to happen bad to me at night, and I thank God for food," she said.

Angel says she's already praying for her forever family.

When News 8's Cynthia Izaguirre asked her what she'll tell her parents when she meets them, Angel answered, "Hello. I love you."
