WFAA entertainment contributor Hayden Pittman had the opportunity to participate in several events promoting "The Purge: Anarchy" on July 3 before he interviewed a star of the film, Zach Gilford. He describes the experience below:

I had the opportunity of participating in several events promoting "The Purge: Anarchy." The first was The Purge: Breakout,” an immersive horror escape experience that traveled through the U.S. during the summer and allowed guests to solve puzzles and figure out clues to breakout and survive the Purge. Joining several other players, we were contained in semi-truck/trailers in downtown Dallas, and had limited time to work our way through a scary maze or fun house of tricks and hidden secrets. Unfortunately, like most participants, we ran out of time and were “killed” during the Purge. This thrilling experience was similar to a high-end carnival ride and provided a deeper look and connection into the new film, "The Purge: Anarchy," which releases July 18.

Later that day, I had the chance to interview one of the films stars, Zach Gilford. Playing the role of Shane in "The Purge: Anarchy," Zach is no stranger to the world of acting, after being featured in the popular NBC television series, "Friday Night Lights," films like "Devil's Due" and "The Last Stand," and a variety of other projects. Throughout our short interview, Zach told me what it was like to work with real-life spouse and actress Kiele Sanchez, who plays his wife in “Anarchy,” what he thinks about the Purge sequel, how he would react during Purge night, what this says about our society and more.
