MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas -- Improbably, it happened twice in Texas on Wednesday: Two 18-wheelers 300 miles apart were smashed to pieces by freight trains after bottoming out their loads and getting stuck on the tracks.

Officials say the driver in the Wednesday morning incident in Midland County managed to get out of the truck before it was hit, and no one was hurt.

It happened at a Union Pacific railroad crossing, and the crash was caught on camera by Dimber Garcia.

Crews worked into the evening to clean up the mess.

On Wednesday evening, another trailer got stuck on the crown of a crossing in Argyle, and a train smashed into the flatbed trailer that was hauling a backhoe. No one was seriously hurt in that accident.
