STREETSBORO, Ohio — Police in Streetsboro, Ohio say a man arrested in connection with a bank robbery may have eaten some of the evidence.

Officers in neighboring Twinsburg nabbed 35-year-old John H. Ford of Cleveland on Interstate 480b shortly after the holdup of a Streetsboro bank branch.

They bent him over the hood of a police cruiser in handcuffs to search for weapons, a procedure that was captured by the squad car's dashboard camera.

During the search, one of the officers pulled a piece of paper out of Ford's pocket. The surveillance video shows Ford reaching over to the paper and eating it.

After reviewing the tape, police believe that may have been the note that the holdup man presented to the teller.

Officers did recover a wad of cash in Ford's car and a gun — but no note.
