As the nation once again turned its attention to an active shooter scene, this time in Washington, D.C., there was one group here in Texas watching with particular interest. On News 8 at 4, we spoke to John Curnutt, the director of training at the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) center, which formed after the Columbine High School rampage in 1999. Their mission -- to find a better way to stop shooters faster.
