ADDISON - This week, North Texas students are taking a step back in time to learn about one of the most iconic group of pilots in history, the Tuskegee airmen.
The Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison is hosting a traveling exhibit called “Rise Above.” In addition to a movie, visitors can see several of the planes used during the period.
On Thursday, News 8 took a closer look at a plane you won’t see anywhere else in the world: a P-51 Mustang from World War II that can still fly.
Museum officials are hoping the exhibit and planes will help to inspire young people to study aviation
The exhibit runs through Saturday. The Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison is open from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m.
