GRAPEVINE - No "Sharknado" stopped us from swimming with the sharks on Tuesday's News 8 Daybreak.
Colleen Coyle got up close and personal with sharks and stingrays at the Sea Life Aquarium in Grapevine. It's just one of several exhibits visitors can explore as Sea Life gears up for Discovery Channel's Shark Week.
There'll be a wide variety of interactive family activities to raise awareness of shark conservation and that teach visitors more about the sea creatures:
- Shark scavenger hunts
- Hang out by the touch pools filled with real shark eggs and teeth
- Discover fun facts about these amazing creatures during "Meet a Shark Expert" talks held in the 360-degree underwater ocean tunnel
- Watch aquarist feed the sharks in the ocean tank
- Take photos with "Sharky" the Sea Life mascot
Admission is $19 for adults and $15 for children ages three to 12 years. Kids two and under get in free. Behind-the-scenes tour tickets are $4.50 for adults and children. Special discounted tickets can be found online.
Shark Week runs Aug. 4 through Aug. 11.
