PEASTER, Texas -- North Texans looking to take a step back in time and see the Easter and Passover stories come to life will have several chances the next two weekends.

Organizers in Parker County are once again hosting shows inside a first-century village, built to resemble a town during the time of Christ.

They call the village Capernaum, and this week, actors are preparing for their roles in “The Passover (Easter) Experience," organizers said.

The idea is to not only tell, but show, visitors how biblical stories would have happened thousands of years ago.

Everything from the tools the actors use to the buildings themselves are replicas of the time, organizers said. The village was originally designed for shooting religious films, but evolved into a tour families could enjoy year after year.

Visitors who take the tour will be reminded of the real reason for the season, organizers said.

The Passover Experience runs March 23rd and 24th, and then March 29th and 30th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The village is located just north of Peaster in Parker County.
