BURLESON — More than 1,000 mourners overflowed a Burleson auditorium Wednesday to remember the life of youth pastor Brian Jennings.

He was killed along with three other people early Sunday morning after he stopped to help a woman stranded on a rural roadside.

Investigators said a truckload of teenagers plowed into the scene.

Jennings' teenaged daughter Abby tearfully told the crowd, "Dad told me not to be bitter."

Themes of faith and forgiveness echoed through the service. Friends told stories of Brian Jennings making them better dads; making them stronger Christians; and making them dance.

A father who nearly lost his son in the crash said Jennings would want everyone to pray for the teens in the truck.

"My Daddy told me I had a beautiful and caring heart, and he never wanted to see it turn bad," Abby Jennings said. "I'm going to live to make my daddy proud."

No charges have been filed, but investigators suspect alcohol played a part in the crash.
