There’s been an outpouring of support for a Dallas firefighter who died in the line of duty.
Scott Tanksley was trying to help a driver who had wrecked out on an icy bridge over Interstate-20 Monday night.
He was hit by another car that also skidded out of control. The impact knocked Tanksley off the bridge. He fell more than 50 feet to the pavement below.
The tragedy has prompted many to ask how they can help. On News 8 at 4, Jason Wheeler talked to the executive director of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, who offered some advice.
