It's official: Apple will host an event in Cupertino, Calif. -- home of its headquarters -- on September 9, where they are expected to reveal the next iPhone and the company's first wearable device.
Invitations were delivered to members of the media Thursday, with the date of Apple's event and the message "wish we could tell you more."
Of course, this is the time of year when Apple unveils its next iPhone. The most discussed rumor has been Apple will offer a smartphone with a larger screen. What's not clear is whether it's one phone or two: a 4.7-inch model and a second with a 5.5-inch screen.
Apple is also expected to finally reveal its first foray into wearables. On Wednesday, Re/code reported Apple will unveil a wearable device along with a new iPhone, although it did not specify whether it's a smartwatch or a band like Samsung's Galaxy Gear Fit.
