DALLAS -- A resolution calling for the removal of Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price never got off the ground at Commissioners Court Tuesday morning.
Commissioner Mike Cantrell, the lone Republican on the court, made the motion requesting that the district attorney file a removal action against Price, which would suspend him from the commission pending the outcome of his federal criminal charges.
The motion got no support -- only a round of applause when it failed.
Price and three of his associates were indicted last month on bribery and tax fraud charges.
Price has said he is innocent and has no plans to step aside.
