UPDATE 2/20 10:40 p.m.: Two people are in police custody in connection to a series of robberies in Dallas driveways, Dallas Police Department sources confirmed to News 8 Thursday.

Police pulled over a silver Chevy SUV around 7:30 p.m. Thursday night in the 2800 block of Davis Street in Oak Cliff. A man and woman riding in the car were taken into custody.

Police sources told News 8 that the pair could be tied to several of the driveway robberies. They say they discovered the woman had a knife in her purse and they discovered some type of homemade mask inside the SUV.

Earlier Thursday, Dallas police held a press conference to get the word out about the crimes. They say a total of 24 have struck several Dallas neighborhoods since January.

In each, the robbers - identified as often male, but occasionally female - would threaten someone in their driveway with the goal of obtaining their wallet or purse. The suspect would use a weapon, often a knife, to intimidate the victim.

EARLIER: DALLAS -- Detectives continue to search for the suspects behind more than a dozen driveway robberies in the city of Dallas.

At a press conference Thursday, Maj. Jeff Cotner said there have been a total of 24 robberies since January, with suspects targeting peoples purses and wallets as they get out of or stand by their cars.

The department says all of the incidents follow that similar style of attack, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. at night. Investigators offered some descriptions of the suspects, but they were very general.

They believe it's likely there are several suspects of many different races. The majority are men, but they know of at least a few robberies where women were involved.

Cotner said he believes the cases are all connected solely based on the similar style of robberies, and it's likely there is more than one group of suspects responsible for these crimes.

Detectives mentioned four possible suspect cars, including a white Honda, a dark-colored sedan, a white or cream-colored Chrysler 200 and most specifically, a silver SUV that is likely a Saturn Vue.

CrimeStoppers and Oak Farms Dairy are offering a $5,000 reward each for information that leads to arrests and indictments of any suspects charged with the crime.
