VALLEY RANCH -- Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced on his radio show Tuesday morning guard Brian Waters is out for the year with a triceps injury.

'It looks like he's out for the year,' Jones told KRLD-FM.

Waters acknowledged he was banged up after Sunday's game in Detroit, in which he suffered ribs, knee, and triceps injuries. He told the media he was 'just trying to make it out of Detroit alive' after the game.

Waters, a six-time Pro Bowler and 12-year veteran, signed a one-year deal worth $1.5 million with the Cowboys in September after sitting out of football the previous season.

After getting into shape through September, he started every game for Dallas since Sept. 22, when the Cowboys faced the Rams. Mackenzy Bernadeau will likely move back into the starting lineup with Waters out.

The loss of Waters will be another blow to the Cowboys running game, which ranks 27th in the NFL in yards per game.
