There's a health alert in Dallas County concerning tuberculosis at South Grand Prairie High School.
A letter to parents references the 'questionable' TB screening of a student, but there is no confirmed case yet.
The student is being kept home as a precaution on the recommendation of Dallas County Health and Human Services.
'Though the risk of becoming sick with TB is very low, DCHHS and GPISD are doing everything possible to ensure that the necessary measures and precautions are taken,' the letter to parents said. 'These are strictly precautionary measures.'
Dallas County Health and Human Services will be contacting students who may have been exposed about testing for the potentially fatal bacterial disease which is spread from person to person through the air.
