The Fort Worth Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base announced Sunday that hundreds of civilians employed by the Navy and Air Force will 'return to normal work schedules' starting Monday.

On Saturday, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said a legal interpretation of the Pay Our Military Act concluded that the Pentagon could eliminate furloughs for 'employees whose responsibilities contribute to the morale, well-being, capabilities and readiness of service members.'

That means more than 400 civilians who were furloughed with the federal government shutdown last week can now return to their jobs.
