BRIDGEPORT - A man was killed in an explosion at Bridgeport Tank Trucks Wednesday morning in Bridgeport, about 55 miles northwest of Fort Worth.
The explosion occurred as a 49-year-old male was welding on the back of a tanker at the business, according to Amber Fogelman, a spokeswoman with the City of Bridgeport. The tanker explosion knocked him back and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
An ensuing fire that broke out at the scene was extinguished.
On its site, Bridgeport Tank Trucks describes its business as "a leading independent provider of fluid transport and disposal services .... for oilfield production" in the Barnett Shale.
