DENTON COUNTY Tuesday's heat was hard on firefighters.

One collapsed while fighting a stubborn late afternoon brush and structure fire just west of Krum. The temperature was 95 degrees, but it felt like 105.

Paramedics were called in to help and the firefighter was taken to Denton Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Additional units were called in to help put out the fire in the 4700 block of OdNeal Road, to help cool off firefighters, and to provide extra water for the effort.
