DALLAS Police are searching for a Hispanic man who shot through a glass door leading to the food court of the Southwest Center Mall Friday afternoon.

Sgt. Warrant Mitchell said three men were standing outside the mall at 1:30 p.m. when the alleged shooter approached them. The four got into an argument.

Witnesses told police that the Hispanic man went back to his vehicle and retrieved a handgun. Upon seeing the armed man, the three ran into the mall. The suspect went into the mall and then returned to the parking lot. Mitchell said he then fired at least one bullet, shattering the glass.

The suspect and the three men fled before police arrived. No one was injured.

This was the second incident at the Red Bird area mall. Early in the morning, a chaotic crowd waiting in line to buy Air Jordan basketball shoes required police intervention.

'It's not even safe to go to the mall anymore really,' said customer Malcolm Turner. 'Have to watch your back and stuff.'

Overnight, a line formed for the shoes at the mall. After daybreak, the line lost all order and police were called.
