FORT WORTH -- A former TCU student and football player has left the school after his arrest for burglary.

David Jenkins turned himself in to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office on June 13 for two counts of burglary of a habitation. TCU Police Sergeant Kelly Ham said Jenkins allegedly stole computers from dorm rooms on campus.

Jenkins posted bond and was released.

Originally from Carrollton, Jenkins was a reserve cornerback on the football team, and had transferred to TCU from Louisiana State University. He sat out last season per NCAA transfer rules, and had never taken the field for the Horned Frogs.

TCU spokeswoman Lisa Albert said Jenkins is no longer a TCU student, but would not comment further, citing privacy laws.

When our student-athletes do not conduct themselves as proper members of the campus community, they lose the privilege of representing Texas Christian University and wearing the Horned Frogs uniform, said TCU Athletic Director Chris Del Conte in a statement.
