Mobile - Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wouldn't answer many questions, but put a positive spin on his early off-season moves.

After watching the North team practice at Ladd Peebles stadium Monday afternoon, Jones was at his optimistic spin-doctor best, telling me he's very excited about his team and the work they're getting done.

"I think we're dong things that certainly immediately make a difference and we take the good things we want to build on and that we got and build on those," said Jones.

And he made a point to include head coach Jason Garrett in the conversation. "Jason and I, and our entire organization, are working together to do just that. I think the decisions we've made, have really improved our chances of improving that record."

The Cowboys are coming off consecutive 8-8 records and have made playoffs just once in the last five seasons.

Jones says he'll answer more question Tuesday. He also said final decisions have not been made yet regarding the coaching staff.
