We've heard a lot today about Paula Deen losing yet another big endorsement from Smithfield Foods.
But not everyone is abandoning the Southern cooking icon.
News 8 caught up with Deen at the first Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show in Dallas last September. On Monday, the show confirmed Deen will be back this September despite being caught in that scandal over a racial slur.
A statement from the show called her a friend for many years.
She has apologized and we are taking her apology at her word and moving forward accordingly, the statement said. This is a nation of forgiveness and second chances.
Deen will continue to be a presenter at the MetroCooking show on September 21-22 in Dallas and at similar events in Houston and Washington, D.C.
