AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Scott Gregg had 19 points, 14 rebounds, six blocks and four assists to lead two-time defending Class 2A champion Ponder to a 72-56 victory against Hallettsville in the state semifinals Friday.

Kaleb Broadstreet and Alex Huerta scored 15 points each while David Robertson added 10 for Ponder (36-4).

Chris Wood-Dvorak led first-time state tournament qualifier Hallettsville with 25 points and 12 rebounds.

Hallettsville (36-2) forced 12 turnovers on 10 steals in the first half, but couldn't convert on the offensive end. Hallettsville was 9 of 31 shooting before halftime.

Hallettsville opened the fourth quarter with three 3-pointers but still couldn't trim a 13-point deficit to fewer than nine.
