At least four people died in four separate traffic accidents overnight in Dallas and Fort Worth.

One of the Dallas incidents involved a hit-and-run motorist on Interstate 35E near Royal Lane.

Police spokesman Senior Cpl. Gerardo Monreal said a Good Samaritan stopped to help with traffic after two vehicles became disabled in one of the northbound lanes around 1:40 a.m. Sunday.

The man, identified as 30-year-old Ronald Glenn Davis Jr. of Denton, turned his back on traffic and was struck by a car. The impact propelled the victim's body into the southbound lanes of I-35E, where he was struck by another vehicle.

Monreal said the driver of the car that hit Davis briefly stopped, then left the scene of the accident, leaving a passenger behind. The driver faces multiple charges when apprehended.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner's office reported there was another fatal accident at Woodall Rodgers Freeway and North Central Expressway near downtown Dallas, but no additional information was available.

In Fort Worth, a driver died in an accident reported at 10:40 p.m. Saturday. It involved two vehicles on Robertson Road, a narrow, two-lane street in rural far northwest Fort Worth.

Police said one of the cars went into a ditch. A person in that vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene after being ejected from the vehicle. He was identified as 63-year-old Larry Thompson of Fort Worth.

Also in Fort Worth, just before 10 p.m. Saturday, one person was killed and another was injured when a sport utility vehicle overturned in the 1800 block of North Riverside Drive.
