Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price wants the court to change the conditions of his release after being indicted on federal bribery and fraud charges.
Price was freed by the court on the condition that he not make contact with any potential witnesses in the case.
Price's attorney says that limitation hurts his right to prepare a defense. The commissioner wants to be able to talk with staff and others who eventually may be witnesses.
It could be years before this case actually goes to trial.
