Seven people were injured and traffic was stymied Saturday evening when a car plowed into the back of a pickup truck on the Bush Turnpike.

The westbound lanes of the toll road were shut down for more than an hour after the 7:30 p.m. accident near the Preston Road exit on the border of Dallas and Plano.

Investigators said a blue Kia carrying six people plowed into the back of a Chevrolet pickup truck.

Everyone in the Kia was injured along with one person in the truck.

Five victims were taken to Medical Center of Plano; one went to Chidren's Medical Center in Dallas and the seventh was admitted to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. The names and conditions of the victims were not immediately available.
