BEDFORD - Police have confirmed that a 12-year-old boy who was reported missing this morning was found safe and was apparently skipping school.

Family members reported Robert Reynolds missing after they said he vanished while loading the family vehicle before school this morning, police said.

He had last been seen by his mother leaving the house to put items inside the car just after 7 a.m. They said he never went back inside the home, located in the 1700 block of Haven Drive. When the mother went outside to look for her son, she said he was nowhere in sight.

Authorities said Reynolds said he had walked to McDonald's for breakfast and then went to the mall and was spotted by Hurst police as he was walking home at about 11 a.m.
