Plenty of politicians have posed for photo ops on the Texas border, but few have ventured farther into Central America, where so many of the unaccompanied children are coming from.
U.S. Rep. Kay Granger (R-Fort Worth) quietly led a bipartisan trip to Guatemala and Honduras last weekend. U.S. House Speaker John Boehner assigned her to lead a working group to brainstorm solutions to the humanitarian crisis.
Granger discusses her proposals and reveals how much the unaccompanied children cost the U.S. every day with 'Inside Texas Politics' host Jason Whitely and Fort Worth Star-Telegram columnist Bud Kennedy.

Just how secure is the border between Mexico and the U.S.? Border Patrol has posted thousands of new agents there in the last two decades, but that's where the debate begins on Flashpoint. From the right, Mark Davis from 660 AM The Answer spars with his friend from the left, former Democratic state representative Domingo Garcia.
In Reporters Roundtable, Fort Worth Star-Telegram columnist Bud Kennedy and Ross Ramsey from The Texas Tribune provide perspective for the huge fundraising totals that gubernatorial candidates Greg Abbott and Wendy Davis amassed over the last reporting period. Plus, they predict the political future of fracking. Denton City Council met last week, but decided to let voters choose whether to ban the controversial oil and gas removal method. And U.S. Sen. John Cornyn and U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar are sponsoring s bipartisan bill to amend the 2008 law protecting unaccompanied children. Should the U.S. pay for lawyers to represent the children in immigration court?
