The Dallas Cowboys selected Notre Dame offensive lineman Zack Martin with the No. 16 pick of the 2014 NFLDraft.

'I'm excited to come to Dallas and be part of a storied organization,' Martin said in a press conference with media members shortly after the selection was announced.

Dallas passed on Johnny Manziel, who remained on the board. Many projected Manziel to go to the Cleveland Browns at the No. 4 pick, but they traded that selection to the Buffalo Bills. The Browns traded back up to the No. 8 spot to draft Oklahoma State's Justin Gilbert.

Martin is capable of playing both offensive guard and offensive tackle. He said his strength is his versatility.

Martin was a team captain for his final two seasons with the Fighting Irish. He was the fourth offensive lineman selected in the 2014 Draft.

Dallas selected an offensive lineman with the No. 31 pick last year in Travis Frederick out of Wisconsin.
