DALLAS Police said a 20-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday morning, the victim of an attempted carjacking in South Dallas.

The victim, identified as David Houston, was found in a vehicle that crashed through a fence and into a house in the 3600 block of Moonstone Drive at 1:30 a.m.

Police spokeswoman Senior Cpl. Sherri Jeffrey said Houston was dropping off a friend at a residence in the 5900 block of Highland Hills Drive when they were approached by four men wearing hoodies asking for a ride. Houston refused, and the men shot him four times.

Houston managed to drive away, but crashed into the house on Moonstone about three blocks away.

The victim was taken to Baylor University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not released any further information about possible suspects in the case.
