NEWS 8 EXCLUSIVE

DALLAS News 8 has the names of the men linked to former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Sam Hurd and a drug and money laundering operation.

The men who are from California were arrested in Denton on July 25 after police found a gun, marijuana, and money in their hotel room.

Later, after examining their cell phones, investigators linked the men to Sam Hurd and his associates.

Jonathan Colon and William Griffin appeared in a Denton courtroom Tuesday morning on misdemeanor marijuana charges. The two were arrested last year along with Edgar Nalbandyan and Vazgen Galadjian.

The four men provided critical evidence that helped lead to the drug trafficking arrest of the former Cowboys player.

The men declined to comment on their case when asked by News 8.

They were arrested after employees at a Denton motel smelled marijuana coming from their room.

According to federal court documents, their cell phones contained text messages to a number associated with Hurd relating to narcotics trafficking and possible money laundering.

Hurd who played with the Dallas Cowboys and most recently with the Chicago Bears was arrested in Chicago for trying to buy large quantities of drugs from an undercover federal agent.

Investigators said he told the informant he wanted to buy 5 to 10 kilograms of cocaine and a thousand pounds of marijuana per week.

Nalbandyan and Galadjian have warrants out for their arrest for failure to appear in court.

Attorney Ray Jackson represents all four of the defendants. I have no comment as to whether or not they will be testifying or not, he said.

The men have not been indicted in connection with the Hurd case. Colon said he doesn't even know Hurd. I don't what you are talking about, he said.

Authorities say their investigation is ongoing.
