DALLAS -- Police investigators and the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office are trying to determine the identity of a body pulled from the Trinity River Monday morning.

Two people canoeing spotted the body floating in the river near S. Central Expressway and Overton Road and called police, according to Dallas Police Ofc. Juan Fernandez.

Homicide detectives said there did not appear to be any defects to the body and the body could not be identified due to extensive time in the water.

The case was filed as an unexplained death, and identification will be determined by the medical examiner's office.
