ARLINGTON An Arlington neighborhood was teeming with police activity on Monday night.

Guns were drawn and a hazardous materials crew was called to a house in the 3400 block of Dovecreek Drive.

Police spokesman Sgt. Christopher Cook said a man at the address fired a shotgun into the air several times. The unnamed man who soon surrendered to officers may have been under the influence of narcotics, Cook said.

No one was hurt.

The hazmat team remained at the home as a precaution for several hours after the suspect was taken into custody as a search warrant was obtained, Sgt. Cook said.
