NORTH RICHLAND HILLS Concern is growing for the safety of a missing North Richland Hills girl who was originally believed to be a runaway.

A surveillance photo released Wednesday afternoon shows the missing 14-year-old girl in an Abilene convenience store with 26-year-old Stephan Cox.

On Wednesday, Ohio authorities issued a warrant for Cox on two counts of unlawful sexual contact with a minor in Columbus.

Cox jumped bond.

He and Contreras entered the Abilene store about 10 p.m. on April 24, the day the girl failed to come home from North Oaks Middle School in Haltom City.

North Richland Hills police said she and Cox took a Greyhound bus to El Paso, where they arrived last Thursday.

Investigators said they do not know when Cox came to Texas, or whether he met the 14-year-old online.

Law enforcement agencies including the FBI and the Border Patrol are on alert for the pair in the El Paso area.
