DeSOTO Police apprehended a robbery suspect Tuesday evening after a tense standoff at an apartment complex in DeSoto.
The incident started with a call to Dallas police from a woman who said the suspect, identified as Davarious Cooper, was being violent.
An unmarked Dallas police car followed Cooper to the vicinity of Belt Line and Hampton roads in DeSoto, where he bailed out of his vehicle.
He fled to the nearby Bo-Jay Apartments in the 200 block of South Hampton Road and forced his way into a unit; the female occupant left.
'We're helping Dallas,' said DeSoto police spokesman Capt. Ron Smith. 'They were looking for this guy; they have three warrants for robbery, and they were following him into DeSoto, and for whatever reason, he bailed out in our city.'
One man told News 8 the suspect had been speeding during the pursuit and struck his car.
The Dallas SWAT team and DeSoto police surrounded the apartment complex.
'He has been located, and we're talking to him,' Smith said. Cooper surrendered peacefully and was arrested on outstanding warrants and new charges on Tuesday.
There were no reports of injuries.
