DALLAS-- A 23-year-old man died Sunday from life-threatening injuries caused by a drunk driver.

Christopher Ryan Brigman, from Plano, Texas, was struck by Benjamin Kevin Newman, 22, in the parking lot of the Hangout Patio Bar and Grill on Thursday, April 17.

Police say around 10:30 p.m., Newman drove into a parking lot on northbound Central Expressway, hitting four people. He left the scene but was later caught by police.

Brigman and another victim were taken to a local hospital. The other victim sustained serious injuries.

Newman has been charged with driving while intoxicated and causing an accident involving injury. He is being held on a $110,000 bond. Police say additional charges are pending.
