The City of Plano is taking an interesting approach to fighting the mosquitoes that carry West Nile virus.

They're fighting back with mosquitofish.

Workers from the Environmental Health Department released thousands of the tiny creatures into a pond at the Pecan Hollow Golf Course. The fish feed on mosquito larvae.

Workers placed them in areas where there aren't already mosquitoes so they can control the population without the need for spraying and fogging.
